AM designers to incorporate sustainability into every aspect of their practice, by focusing on materials efficiency and selection, design optimisation for reducing material usage and waste. They prioritise energy-efficient and low-emissions processes, focusing on customisable, on-demand manufacturing to reduce overproduction, minimise consumerism and extend the life cycle of products. Sustainability extends beyond materials and processes to include behavioural changes, well-being and social impact.
